Description
These cabinets are custom made to fit a space in either your garage, basement, laundry, or utility room. I have made this style of cabinets for years for commercial usage such as banks, offices, retail stores, and medical offices.
Cabinets are made from 3/4" melamine. Melamine is a plastic-like material coated onto a composite board. Many solid colors and woodgrains are available to choose from. In garage and basement areas, the cabinets sit on a 4" or 6" solid wood base covered in a white, black, or brown vinyl. This box sits back 3" from the front of the cabinet and acts as the toe kick. This is important in a garage or basement where water and moisture will ruin the cabinets if they sit directly on the floor. Some of the garage cabinet manufacturers hang the cabinets on the wall, 6" off the floor. I believe they do this for easy installation purposes. This is an enormous amount of weight for the cabinets to hold and this could lead to problems. I also think dust and dirt will accumulate under the cabinets, making it hard to clean.

Cabinet Construction:
- The cabinet sides, bottoms and tops are made from 3/4" melamine
- The backs are grooved into the bottom, and sides and are held securely with a 3/4" x 4" hanger rail at top and bottom of cabinets. They are biscuit mortised, glued and screwed together
- Salice brand 120° opening self-close hinges
- 3/4" extension epoxy coated white drawer slides
- Full extension ball bearing side mount (like the kind you see on one of those nice rolling tool boxes) are also available.
- The counter is an 1-1/2" thick and available in many plastic laminate colors. A solid maple butcherblock top is also available. This makes a great workbench. A nice feature is a 24" high backsplash made out of white pegboard that is framed from behind so hangers can hook. This makes a nice place to hang tools, and miscellaneous garage items.
- These cabinets come completely assembled and ready for installation.
